Recap: East New York Family Academy vs. Sankofa Freedom Academy Warriors
East New York Family Academy have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 54-41 to Sankofa Freedom Academy on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as East New York Family Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 107th in New York, while Sankofa Freedom Academy is ranked 218th in Pennsylvania).
Leading Sankofa Freedom Academy to victory were Jasir Henderson and Nafise Dubose. Henderson scored 15 points, while Dubose scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Dubose's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Nasir Brown was another key contributor, scoring six points.
East New York Family Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Sankofa Freedom Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
