Iowa High School Athletic Association crowns four state champs with limited spectators

Iowa limits ticket sales to 100 per team for state championships but gets through tournament.

The Iowa boys basketball state tournament was played with limited spectators on Friday because of concerns around the spread of the coronavirus the Iowa High School Athletic Association announced Thursday afternoon in a press release.

Each of Friday's partticipating schools are allowed up to 100 total entrants, free of charge. The 100 entrants include the official team traveling party.

Thursday's games were played without spectator restriction.



The IHSAA got through the tournament unscathed and crowned four champions on Friday night: Wapsie Valley (Fairbank) in 1A, Boyden-Hull (Hull) in 2A, Norwalk in 3A and Ankeny in 4A.
