Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grandview). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Chrisman Bears 76-16. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Bears are ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Grandview to victory were Jada Smith and Lariah Tucker. Smith went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 30 points along with eight boards and four steals, while Tucker went 9 for 14 en route to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. Smith's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lecia Martin, who posted nine points and five boards.
Grandview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.
Grandview's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Chrisman, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
