Baseball Recap: Danvers Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Danvers's offense. They lost 6-0 to the Rockport Vikings on Wednesday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dylan Weeks was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Danvers saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Hamel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Danvers' defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Rockport, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Danvers will take on Peabody Veterans Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rockport, they will face off against Hamilton-Wenham Regional at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
