Basketball Recap: George West Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Tristen Blevins and Christopher Bernal

George West played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 60-38 to the West Oso Bears. The Longhorns were down 48-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Christopher Bernal and Tristen Blevins certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Bernal almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards, while Blevins posted 19 points along with five boards and three steals. That was a full 50% of George West's points, marking the 14th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

West Oso got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was C'Angelo Richardson out in front who put up 12 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerald Harper, who had 11 points and seven rebounds.

George West has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for West Oso, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

George West will host Mathis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. George West is facing Mathis at the right time seeing as Mathis is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for West Oso, they are taking a road trip to take on Taft at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
