Recap: Montevallo Bulldogs vs. American Christian Academy Patriots
If The Montevallo Bulldogs were feeling good off their 42-12 takedown of the Holt Ironmen last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Montevallo took a 18-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of American Christian Academy on Friday. Montevallo has struggled against American Christian Academy recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Montevallo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rozario Conwell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 150 yards, and also threw for three yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.
American Christian Academy was led to victory by Jackson Willingham and Kai Young. Willingham rushed for 100 yards, while Young threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns.
Montevallo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for American Christian Academy, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montevallo will take on Tarrant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. American Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Booker T. Washington is ranked 112th, while American Christian Academy is ranked 124th).
