Soccer Game Preview: Palacios vs. Bay City

Palacios hasn't had much luck against Bay City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Palacios Sharks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bay City Blackcats at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Palacios was able to grind out a solid win over Rice Consolidated, taking the game 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Bay City came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Blackcats have won 12 games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bay City pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five matches. As for Palacios, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
