Softball Recap: Fairport Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Rush-Henrietta on Thursday, Fairport came back down to earth. The Red Raiders came up short against the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets on Saturday, falling 16-3.

Fairport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Colaluca, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Lizzie Roessel also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Fairport's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

While Fairport had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
