Basketball Recap: Northland Pines Comes Up Short

If Northland Pines was riding high fresh off their 65-30 takedown of Watersmeet last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northland Pines Eagles were outmatched by the Lakeland Thunderbirds and fell 100-31. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 39th).

Northland Pines' loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Lakeland, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Looking ahead, Northland Pines will square off against Mosinee at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mosinee has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 232 points over their last three contests. As for Lakeland, they will challenge Tomahawk at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
