Jefferson County is 0-6 against Rickards since February of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Jefferson County Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Rickards Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Jefferson County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Jefferson County took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past FAMU DRS 14-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Ja'Lon Crumity made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jefferson County is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise. Crumity was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Levi Carrol was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew (Britt) Jimenez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Jefferson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Rickards was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aucilla Christian.
Rickards saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jahmir Williams, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Jefferson County's record now sits at 5-8. As for Rickards, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jefferson County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rickards struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Jefferson County suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Rickards in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Jefferson County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
