Softball Game Preview: Southern Lehigh Spartans vs. Bangor Slaters

The Southern Lehigh Spartans will square off against the Bangor Slaters at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bangor will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Southern Lehigh extended their winning streak to five on Monday. The Spartans' pitchers stepped up to hand Jim Thorpe a 15-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Bangor made easy work of Wilson Area on Wednesday and carried off a 12-6 win. The Slaters haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Southern Lehigh's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Bangor, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Southern Lehigh took their victory against Bangor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-4 score. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Slaters turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
