Basketball Game Preview: Genoa Christian Academy Lions vs. Fairbanks Panthers

The Genoa Christian Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Fairbanks Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Genoa Christian Academy is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Delaware Christian on Monday. The Lions claimed a resounding 72-39 win over the Eagles. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 59-15.

Genoa Christian Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Evan Allgood, who went 10-for-16 en route to 26 points in addition to five boards and five steals, and Jackson Kirura, who shot 58% from the field on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. Those five steals gave Allgood a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Taylor, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 11 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Fairbanks put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Northeastern 67-28. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Genoa Christian Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Fairbanks, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
