James Lick had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Evergreen Valley Cougars, sneaking past 2-1. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Cougars are ranked 1108th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lael Perez was the driving force of James Lick's attack as he scored both of James Lick's goals, bringing his season total up to 13 goals.

James Lick pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests.
