Recap: Murrieta Mesa Rams vs. Vista Murrieta Broncos
The Murrieta Mesa Rams were the 50-49 winner over the Vista Murrieta Broncos when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Murrieta Mesa took a hard 68-53 fall against Vista Murrieta on Friday. While losing is never fun, Murrieta Mesa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Vista Murrieta is ranked 27th).
It was another big night for Cisco Munoz, who scored 25 points along with five assists for Vista Murrieta. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Munoz has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Guinn, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Murrieta Mesa are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10. As for Vista Murrieta, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.
Murrieta Mesa will head out on the road to square off against Great Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vista Murrieta, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. Chaparral is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
