Preview: Hilliard Bradley Jaguars vs. Westerville North Warriors

The Hilliard Bradley Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Westerville North Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Hilliard Bradley put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Newark 42-0 at home. Given Hilliard Bradley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Newark is ranked 413th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bradyn Fleharty got back to being his usual excellent self, as he threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

Meanwhile, Westerville North had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lancaster 31-28. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Westerville North was the better team in the second half.

Westerville North's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayden Childress, who rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Childress' longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronald Jackson, who threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Their wins bumped Hilliard Bradley to 10-1 and Westerville North to 9-2.

Everything came up roses for Hilliard Bradley against Westerville North when the teams last played back in October of 2015 as the squad secured a 35-0 victory. Will Hilliard Bradley repeat their success, or does Westerville North have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
