Basketball Recap: Aymen Ismail's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Judge Memorial Catholic over American Heritage

Judge Memorial Catholic fought the good fight in their overtime match against American Heritage on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 72-64 to the American Heritage Patriots. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Judge Memorial Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aymen Ismail, who posted 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Ismail is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Majak Deng, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 18 points and seven boards.

Judge Memorial Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for American Heritage, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Judge Memorial Catholic will face off against Delta at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th. As for American Heritage, they will take on Emery at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th.
