Softball Recap: Millikan Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Millikan can now relate to. They fell 4-0 to the Ganesha Giants on Saturday. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Lauren Cantwell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Millikan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Owen, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Millikan's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Ganesha, the victory (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 24-4-1.

Millikan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ganesha, they will venture away from home to face off against Santa Margarita at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Giants' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
