Softball Game Preview: University Charter Trail Blazers vs. Keith Bears

University Charter has won three straight games at home, while Keith has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Trail Blazers will host the Bears at 4:00 p.m. Keith took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on University Charter, who comes in off a win.

University Charter's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They blew past Johnson 20-0. Considering the Trail Blazers have won five contests by more than 13 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lola Dixon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, University Charter got a massive performance out of Marissa Felus, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave Felus a new career-high. Rylee Egbert was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

University Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .821. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last six matchups, Keith finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against Billingsley, falling 17-2. The game marked Keith's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

University Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Keith, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
