Softball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Woodland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to the St. Bede Bruins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 5-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Olivia Chismarick was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Jaylei Leininger was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Woodland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for St. Bede, their record now sits at 6-1.

Coming up, Woodland will be playing in front of their home fans against Gardner-South Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Bede will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' match: after the Warriors faces off against the Panthers, they'll take on St. Bede again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
