Basketball Recap: Eric Grotevant's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chatham Homeschool over KACHEA

Chatham HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the KACHEA Wildcats. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Chatham HomeSchool lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Eric Grotevant, who posted nine points. What's more, he also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Another player making a difference was Andrew Coletta, who had eight points and eight boards.

KACHEA got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grant Thompson out in front who shot 73% from the field to rack up 20 points. Andrew Joyner was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 10 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

Chatham HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 24-17. As for KACHEA, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-13.

Chatham HomeSchool has already played their next match, an 85-61 win against Gulf Coast HEAT on the 6th. As for KACHEA, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-40 victory against Fredericksburg V on the 6th.
