Volleyball Recap: Providence Cristo Rey Comes Up Short

Providence Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Cristo Rey St. Martin CRSM.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-6.

Leading Cristo Rey St. Martin to victory were Anthony Ceniceros and Jake Canales. Ceniceros had 16 digs and three aces, while Canales had eight digs and three assists. Ceniceros has been hot, having posted 15 or more digs the last seven times he's played. Aleshtl Tapia also deserves some recognition as he had his first digs of the season.

Providence Cristo Rey's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cristo Rey St. Martin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Providence Cristo Rey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial on the 15th. As for Cristo Rey St. Martin, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against St. Martin de Porres on the 12th.
