Softball Recap: Riverview Takes a Loss

Riverview was the 15-0 winner over Chamberlain when they last played one another back in April of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Sharks took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Storm on Thursday. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kylie Freeland was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Cecilia Cartwright was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Riverview's record is now 9-7. As for Chamberlain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview will square off against Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chamberlain, they will face off against Tampa Bay Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.85 runs per game on average), something the Storm will no doubt try to take advantage of.
