Baseball Game Preview: Pitman Panthers vs. Delran Bears

The Pitman Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Delran Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Pitman is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Salem an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The Panthers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10, 2025 (when they won 11-0).

Liam Bially tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Steven Clifford, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Logan Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Pitman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Delran made sure to put some runs up on the board against Maple Shade on Wednesday. The Bears put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 15-5 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Pitman pushed their record up to 3-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Delran, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Pitman suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Delran in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
