Softball Game Preview: Falls Lake Firebirds vs. East Wake Academy Eagles

Falls Lake has gone a perfect 10-0 against East Wake Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Firebirds will head out to face off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, Falls Lake made easy work of East Wake Academy and carried off a 9-3 win.

Wynterlee Glenn made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Jolie Sensenig was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Kayla Cash was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Falls Lake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Falls Lake back to even at 10-10. As for East Wake Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.
