            Softball Recap: Fallbrook Warriors vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils        
        
		
        
        
            Fallbrook had lost seven straight on the road, but  on Friday they dropped their record down to 6-13-1 to make it eight. They took  an  8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Carmel Sundevils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sundevils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  12-0  back in April.

 Hana Winton put in work no matter where she played. She  struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run.
 Winton wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Valeria Cervera, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run and one  double.
As for Mt. Carmel, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.
 On Mt. Carmel's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Clara Carter, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.  Riley Ronald was another key player,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fallbrook will  challenge  rival Escondido  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Ramona  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
