Game recap

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Lafayette (Lexington, Ky.) took an early lead against Boone County (Florence, Ky.) and held on for a 41-28 victory on Saturday.

The Generals scored 14 points in the first quarter. Lafayette scored on a touchdown run by Malik Robinson and a Clay Bolin touchdown run.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Robinson in the first quarter, LHS led 22-7 at the half.

The Lexington school expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. The Generals scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Mason Alstatt.

Bolin played well for Lafayette in the victory. The sophomore quarterback ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.

The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Rebels took, 21-0.

The victory was a step in the right direction for LHS, which was coming off a 48-28 defeat at the hands of Lexington Catholic in its previous game. The loss was the fourth in a row for Boone County. The victory snapped Lafayette's three-game losing streak.

Lafayette (1-3) goes up against Paul Laurence Dunbar in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Boone County (0-4) locks horns with Henry Clay also in a non-conference game.
