Military Magnet Academy piles up the points against St. John's

In what's become a running theme this season, the Military Magnet Academy Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They really took it to St. John for the full four quarters, racking up a 93-29 win at home. The win was familiar territory for Military Magnet Academy who now have five in a row.

It was another big night for Dream Watson, who dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Willis, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Despite the defeat, St. John's had strong showings from Jasmyne Robinson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, and Daeshia Buford, who scored 11 points along with four steals. Buford is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season.

St. John's struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Military Magnet Academy racked up 23 assists.

Military Magnet Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 92.7 points per game. As for St. John's, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Military Magnet Academy will head out on the road to square off against Baptist Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Military Magnet Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Baptist Hill likes a good challenge. As for St. John's, they will be playing at home against Cross at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Lauren Middleton and Buford.
