Basketball Recap: Elm Creek Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

There's no place like home for Elm Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 53-40 win over the Southern Valley Eagles on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Buffaloes also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Elm Creek was led to victory by Quin Oberg and Jeremiah Shoemaker. Oberg almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards, while Shoemaker went 7 of 16 on his way to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals. Thomas Sullivan was another key player, putting up three points.

Elm Creek's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. As for Southern Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Elm Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-38 win against Alma on the 10th. Southern Valley has also already played their next match, a 69-41 defeat against Cambridge on the 10th.
