Volleyball Recap: Ord Takes a Loss

If Ord was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Maxwell on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chanticleers came up short against the St. Paul Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss two weeks ago.

While Ord was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 25-21.

Jamie Vavra paced Ord's offense, picking up ten kills. Vavra got some help from Brylie Collier and her 25 assists. Finally, Vavra was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Leading St. Paul to victory were Keislyn Poss and Delaney Jennings. Poss had 12 digs and six assists, while Jennings had seven digs and one assist. That's the most assists Poss has posted over her last five contests.

Ord's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 13-18. As for St. Paul, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-9.

Ord does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Paul, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Yutan on the 1st.
