Soccer Game Preview: Evanston vs. Kelly Walsh

Evanston hasn't had much luck against Kelly Walsh recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Devils will host the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Evanston has given up an average of 5.7 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Evanston is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Jackson Hole, who was ranked first at the time (Evanston was ranked 19th). The Devils lost 11-3 to the Broncs on Saturday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Evanston were already down 5-0.

Meanwhile, Kelly Walsh came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the TIGERS a 2-0 shutout.

Kelly Walsh's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those five games. As for Evanston, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1.
