Volleyball Game Preview: Marian Catholic Spartans vs. St. Patrick Shamrocks

The Marian Catholic Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the St. Patrick Shamrocks at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Marian Catholic came up short against Niles Notre Dame and fell 2-0. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-13.

Meanwhile, St. Patrick beat Payton College Prep 2-0 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Shamrocks in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won five in a row.

St. Patrick easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-13.

The victory got St. Patrick back to even at 12-12. As for Marian Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Marian Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Patrick in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
