Basketball Recap: Florence Huskies vs. Manitou Springs Mustangs
If the Florence Huskies were feeling good off their 80-23 takedown of the Ellicott Thunderhawks last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Florence took a hard 63-49 fall against the Mustangs on Wednesday. If Florence was looking for revenge after losing 65-59 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Howard, who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Howard has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Goodall, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Florence has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Manitou Springs, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florence will challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manitou Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against the Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
