Softball Game Preview: Victoria West Warriors vs. Victoria East Titans

An exciting East v. West battle is about to be fought. The Victoria West Warriors will challenge the Victoria East Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Victoria West has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Things were looking good for Victoria West after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Randle, falling 11-5.

Andrea Ramirez stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles. Maisy Arambula also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Victoria East fell victim to Cuero and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Gobblers.

Victoria East's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-12. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Victoria West, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Victoria West couldn't quite finish off Victoria East in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can Victoria West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
