Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Hawks vs. Holy Spirit Prep Cougars + Official Tickets

The Heritage Hawks will square off against the Holy Spirit Prep Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Holy Spirit Prep likes a good challenge.

Heritage is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Francis just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 57-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hawks have suffered since February 8th.

Despite the loss, Heritage saw an underclassman step up: freshman MaKari Townsend posted 11 points and eight boards. Townsend is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Mufu Jr., who dropped a double-double with ten points and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Holy Spirit Prep duked it out with Westminster Christian Academy on Friday. The Cougars received a blow as they fell 61-44 to the Lions. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 11-7 in the first quarter.

Holy Spirit Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Heritage against Holy Spirit Prep in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured an 84-27 win. In that contest, the Hawks amassed a halftime lead of 47-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
