Baseball Recap: Walla Walla Valley Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Touchet on Friday, Walla Walla Valley Academy came back down to earth. The Knights lost 19-4 to the Redhawks on Friday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redhawks earlier this season, when they won 18-7.

Austin Stanciu was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Walla Walla Valley Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Touchet, their victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walla Walla Valley Academy will square off against St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Walla Walla Valley Academy is facing St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse at the right time seeing as St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Touchet, they will host Pomeroy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Redhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
