Baseball Recap: Baldwin Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Baldwin had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Ridgeview Panthers as the Baldwin Indians made off with a 9-1 win. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 5-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mason Williams and Drew Harmon did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles, while Harmon went 1-for-4 with three runs and one triple. Those two doubles gave Williams a new career-high. Josh Jordan was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Ridgeview is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Baldwin will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Bishop Snyder at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ridgeview, they are taking a road trip to square off against Orange Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
