Recap: Redbank Valley Bulldogs vs. DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals
The Redbank Valley Bulldogs had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They snuck past DuBois Central Catholic with a 60-54 win. Given Redbank Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Cardinals are ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Redbank Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kieran Fricko led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six rebounds. Breckin Minich was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Redbank Valley pushed their record up to 15-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for DuBois Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Redbank Valley will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Gremlins at 7:30 p.m. Karns City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully the Bulldogs likes a good challenge. As for DuBois Central Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
