Hobart is a perfect 8-0 against Michigan City since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Brickies will venture away from home to take on the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. Hobart will be strutting in after a victory while Michigan City will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Hobart earned a 10-7 win over Chesterton. The victory continues a trend for the Brickies in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.
Nora Hornak was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sierra Teel was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Hobart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chesterton only posted a batting average of .350.
Michigan City kicked off their season on the road last Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against South Bend Adams, falling 15-3. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
Ann Sawyer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Hobart took their win against Michigan City in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Brickies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
