Softball Recap: Harlan County Wins Going Away Against Middlesboro

Harlan County won the last time they faced Middlesboro and things went their way on Monday too. The Black Bears put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 7-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Black Bears have posted against the Yellowjackets since May 14, 2018.

Alexis Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Harlan County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aviya Halcomb, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Harlan County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-17. As for Middlesboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
