Softball Game Preview: Wahama White Falcons vs. Greenbrier West Cavaliers

The Wahama White Falcons will face off against the Greenbrier West Cavaliers at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Wahama is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

Wahama heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Wednesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-0 to Pendleton County, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The White Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier West was able to grind out a solid victory over Trinity Christian on Wednesday, taking the game 8-3.

Kyndall Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Madalyn Fields was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Preslee Treadway was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Greenbrier West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Wahama, their defeat dropped their record down to 28-8.

Wahama beat Greenbrier West 7-4 when the teams last played on Wednesday. Will the White Falcons repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
