Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Marquez

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marquez had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Franklin Panthers by a score of 55-42. The win was familiar territory for the Gladiators, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Marquez's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elyjah Staples, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Staples is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Cravon Charles, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 16 boards.

Marquez smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They are 12-3 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Marquez's victory bumped their record up to 19-12. As for Franklin, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-14 record.

Marquez wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-42 loss against Bernstein on the 1st. Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
