Basketball Game Preview: American Leadership Academy Patriots vs. Batesburg-Leesville Panthers

The American Leadership Academy Patriots will face off against the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. American Leadership Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, American Leadership Academy came up short against Strom Thurmond and fell 46-38.

Despite the defeat, American Leadership Academy had strong showings from Payton Miles, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Bryce Newton, who posted 13 points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds Newton has posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Batesburg-Leesville took on Ninety Six on Tuesday. Batesburg-Leesville blew past Ninety Six 66-46. That 20 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Batesburg-Leesville is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for American Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

American Leadership Academy came up short against Batesburg-Leesville in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 61-53. Can American Leadership Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
