Baseball Recap: Denver South Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Denver South). They put the hurt on the DSST: Montview Knights with a sharp 18-2 win on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Ravens as they're now sitting on four straight.

Cody Welch was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Welch was even better at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other pitching news, Landon Leu looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Denver South got a massive performance out of Pierce Clark, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those RBI were Clark's first of the season. Henry Schoder was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Five bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Denver South pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for DSST: Montview, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Denver South will welcome Mountain Range at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for DSST: Montview, they are taking a road trip to square off against Kent Denver at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kent Denver is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.
