Basketball Recap: Grovemont Comes Up Short

Grovemont dropped to 1-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to the DASH United. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the United apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

As for DASH, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 73.7 points this season.

Jason Judd was the offensive standout of the matchup as he went 7-for-14 to rack up 23 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Workman, who posted 12 points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grovemont will square off against Durham Flight HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for DASH, they will challenge Southside Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
