Football Recap: Watseka Takes a Loss

Watseka played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 67-20 loss at the hands of the Clifton Central Comets. The Warriors have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Austin Matthew Morris threw for 57 yards and two touchdowns. Dennis Goodman was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards and one TD.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clifton Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evan Cox, who rushed for 53 yards and three scores. Another player making a difference was Brady Shule, who threw for 274 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt.

Watseka's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clifton Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
