Basketball Recap: Christopher Grabow's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Twentynine Palms over Silver Valley

On Monday, the Twentynine Palms Wildcats lost to the Silver Valley Trojans at home by a 60-44 margin. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Twentynine Palms' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christopher Grabow, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Grabow also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Ayden OGilvie was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 15 boards and three steals.

Silver Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javion Taylor, who went 9 for 14 en route to 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Taylor is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jasean Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 boards.

Twentynine Palms' defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Silver Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Twentynine Palms has already played their next match, an 81-61 victory against Coachella Valley on the 16th. As for Silver Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-31 win against Academy for Academic Excellence on the 15th.
