Recap: Mt. Rainier Rams vs. Federal Way Eagles

If the Mt. Rainier Rams were riding high off their 81-45 takedown of the Fife Trojans last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mt. Rainier suffered a rough 73-50 defeat at the hands of Federal Way on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mt. Rainier in their matchups with Federal Way: they've now lost nine in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Mt. Rainier lost, one person who can't be blamed is Owen Brown. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 0 assists. That's the first time this season that Brown scored 15 or more points. Zach Luz was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists.

Even though they lost, Mt. Rainier were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Mt. Rainier's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Federal Way, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Mt. Rainier will be playing at home against Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Federal Way's road trip will continue as they head out to face Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th.
