Baseball Game Preview: Hancock County Indians vs. Washburn Pirates

The Hancock County Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the Washburn Pirates on Monday. Hancock County is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Hancock County didn't have quite enough to beat Pineville and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Washburn was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against Fulton, falling 12-2.

Washburn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Clay, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. The Pirates are 4-1 when Clay posts two or more runs, but 5-7-1 otherwise.

Hancock County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Washburn, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8-1.

Hancock County suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Washburn in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
