Softball Preview: Martin Warriors vs. Bowie Volunteers
Martin is 10-0 against Bowie since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Martin Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Bowie Volunteers at 6:00 p.m. Martin is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Martin is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Friday, just like they did against Arlington (and have done all season long). Martin put the hurt on Arlington with a sharp 12-2 victory on Wednesday.
Izabell Astran was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Sydney Bearden was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with three runs, a triple, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Bowie's offense. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 17-0 walloping at the hands of South Grand Prairie on Friday. Bowie just can't catch a break and has now endured five defeats in a row.
Martin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5-1 record this season. As for Bowie, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
Martin took their win against Bowie in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 15-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Martin since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
