            Baseball Preview: Franklin Warriors vs. Watchung Hills Regional Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Franklin is preparing for their first  league matchup of the season  on Tuesday. They will venture away from home to  take on Watchung Hills Regional  at 4:00  p.m. Both come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Franklin will bounce into Tuesday's   game after  beating Somerville, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  8-7  win over the Pioneers  on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Warriors have posted  since May 2, 2024.
  Michael Schiermeyer was  excellent,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Watchung Hills Regional earned  a  6-2 win over The Pingry School  on Saturday.
 AIDEN DuHAIME looked comfortable as he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits.
 At the plate,  STEFANO DiGERONIMO and  BRODY GRIFFITH did most of the damage at the plate:  DiGERONIMO  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3, while  GRIFFITH  scored two  runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of  MAX PAYNE, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
 Watchung Hills Regional  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .548. The last time their  OBP was this high was  was before  the start of last season.
 The  victory  got Franklin back to even at 1-1. As for Watchung Hills Regional, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
 Franklin skirted past Watchung Hills Regional  3-2 when the teams last played  back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
